Abstract In this seminar a practical way for finding optimal placement of actuator/sensor (OPAS) for a sound-structure interaction system is presented. The investigation is conducted on an acoustic cavity considered as a sound-structure interaction system. A method is developed for optimal sensor/actuator positioning considering model uncertainty and an energy based approach is presented. New criteria based on model error and energy are proposed to locate actuators and sensor. The optimal sensor/actuator location (OSAL) obtained is used to construct a feedback controller for reducing noise caused by structure-borne sound. The controller is based on minimax LQG control design method and is employed for attenuating acoustic potential energy inside the acoustic cavity. The method for optimal sensor/actuator placement is demonstrated experimentally.
Bio Suwit is a PhD student in field of Control Theory. He is supervised by Associate Professor Dr. Pota.
