| Abstract |
Detecting termites inside building materials and other optically opaque structures has proven to be possible using microwave RADAR. Research is under way to produce an array that will provide much more information on the activity of these termites. Although in its early stages, an analysis of the available options and some decisions have been made regarding the likely form that this array may take have been made. Areas that will be covered include current technology, array geometry and supporting electronics, and algorithms for direction of arrival estimation including modifications required for this unique problem.
