| Abstract | Two new approaches to data classification have recently been developed at the University of Ballarat. One of them is based on the application of a new technique for local and global optimization, which was developed at Ballarat over the last three years. The other is based on the notion of fuzzy derivatives that allows one to estimate the influence of one attribute to another. Both approaches provide the best results for some known test datebases of medium size. |
