Prof. Dr. Hussein A. Abbass is a Professor and Chair of Information Technology, a Senior Member of the IEEE and the director of the Artificial Life and Adaptive Robotics Laboratory at the University of New South Wales at the Australian Defence Force Academy Campus in Canberra. He has many years of industrial and academic experience, and 170+ refereed publications. He has been a member of the program committee of many conferences in the field, and is the co-founder of the Australian Conference on Artificial Life (ACAL). He is the Chair of the Artificial Life and Complex Adaptive Systems Working Group at the IEEE-NNs EC Committee (2004-2005) and the program co-chair of the first IEEE conference on Artificial Life to be held in Honolulu, April 2007. Dr. Abbass's expertise covers modelling and simulation, complex systems, adaptive systems, data mining, multi-agent systems, and adaptive robotics.
